Put rubber on both sides.

I've used one for a long time. Actually a number of them. For over 20 years. Consider putting the rubber on both sides.

Takes me extra time checking to be sure that the rubber side is down...so I can keep the rubber on my shoulder.

I have wanted to find a Think Tank strap (rubber insert on both sides). Well I did. It is not as comfortable as a Gripper Strap. It is more convenient to use.
