F2 + 70-200

I am new to the forum and I'm sure that this has been asked before, so I apologize in advance. I typically carry a D300 with the following Nikkor lenses: 17-55 F2.8, 50 F1.4, and 70-200 F2.8 plus SB800. I was in my local camera store and spotted an F2 in the waxwear edition. Having craved a Domke for years I bought i, without having all of my equipment with me. The clerk thought that the 70-200 would fit but it seems to be too tall. Perhaps a different insert?? Any suggestions? Pictures would be welcomed. Should I exchange for a different model?

I use the 720-230 3-compartment insert for my bags; my Canon 70-200 2.8 IS (bit over 8"long with caps on) fits vertically in an F1x or F2 when not on the camera; with the lens on the camera I lie the combo on it's size in front of the insert.

Thanks. After reading some other posts, I had wondered if that might be the best option. I think that the Nikkor is a little longer than the Canon though and may not work vertically as well.
