What is it?
Polarizer filters are an essential filter every photographer should have. Polarizing filters provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer filter corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly by using polarizer filters.
Which polarizer is right for you?
  • Circular
  • Linear
  • Warm
  • Low Light
A circular polarizing filter absorbs rays of sunlight, by rotating the ring you control the effect. A Circular Polarizer has the same effect as a polarizer filter and is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLR’s (for most 35mm auto-focus cameras see your camera manual). The Standard Circular Polarizer filter blocks 1.5 stops of light and is one of those must have filters.

In the Warm Polarizer filter, Tiffen combines the properties of the polarizing filter with the exclusive effects of the 812® Warming Filter. This valuable filter adds natural warmth to all skin-tones, exterior shade and highlight areas. This is useful in outdoor open shade situations where there is excessive blue in the image and total control over lighting may not be possible.
  • Combines Tiffen 812® Warming Filter with a Standard Polarizer filter

  • Great for Portraits and Scenics

The low light polarizer has less of a polarizing effect than a standard polarizer filter, allowing for it to be used in indoor and darker situations when available light is at a premium. Low light polarizer filters require 1 stop of exposure compensation, instead of the standard 1.5 stop compensation.
  • Great to pair with other filters

  • Warm Low Light Polarizer filter combines 1 stop polarizer with the Tiffen 812® Warming filter
